Thank you for your consideration and support of the Kasey Kruse Memorial Golf Classic.
Our goal is to have a day surrounded by family and friends while raising funds to create a memorial in Kasey's honor recognizing all the joy and laughter he brought to this world. Kasey's smile could light up any room and is deeply missed. You never know the impact someone is making in other's lives while living theirs. Kasey "lived life out loud".
In 2013 Kasey suffered a severe concussion while playing the sport he loved, ice hockey. In one moment, the trajectory of Kasey's life was forever altered. Now understanding that the changes that occurred in Kasey's personality were not Kasey, but the result of the injury. His days were filled with debilitating anxiety, depression and day to day tasks became impossible. Great measures were taken throughout the years to try and create solutions for these changes. There was often a lot of confusion with his family and friends because of this. He could be the life of the party with his mega watt smile one minute to bedridden with anxiety the next. Although he suffered with this daily, he still showed up in the ways he could especially by coaching youth hockey.
Since his passing many stories have been shared about the impact that he made. Most recently we found out that 6 members of the team that Kasey coached just won the state U18 championship, in overtime just as Kasey would have liked. Just as he lived life, a fight to the end.
